This is the biggest match so far this season, when the top three contenders Marseille and Monaco are facing off. Marseille have started the season very well and are currently in first positions after winning all three matches. They started the season with an expected 3-1 win away to Guingamp, then followed that with another win 2-0 at home to Evian TG. In the last match they beat Valenciennes 1-0 away, a match where Marseille had 55% possession and created 18 attemtps (six of them on target). The goal came pretty late, after 84 minutes, and was scored by forward Gignac. Man of the match was Marseille attacking midfielder Valbuena. Marseille have scored six goals so far, three of them by attacking midfielder Payet, the other three by Gignac.

Monaco have started the season very well too, they are currently in third position two points behind Marseille, with two wins and one draw. PSG are in second position, but they played won on Friday so have played one more match. Monaco started the season away to Bordeaux, a match they won 2-0. Then they won 4-1 at home to Montpellier. Their last match was at home to Toulouse, where they only managed a draw 0-0, despite having 21 attempts and 59% possession. Toulouse only got three attempts and none were on target. Marseille have only one injury concern, midfielder Imbula Wanga is out with sprained ankle (he played two of the league matches). Monaco also have few worries, but midfielder Dirar and midfielder Moutinho are doubtful.
