MONTPELLIER V LILLE PREDICTIONS 

Thanks to their direct opponents’ losses last week, Lille is now back in the fight for a European ticket, once again. We thought that it was over for Lille after two very bad results in a row, but their easy 3-0 home win over Reims last weekend is even better than what could be anticipated.  Lille is now standing in 4^th position with a total of 60 points. They are sitting 3 points behind Lyon, so even a Champion’s League qualification is still possible. When playing away, Lille has a solid 7-6-5 record, with 4 wins and one loss in their last 5 trips.

Montpellier is freewheeling in this end of Ligue 1 season, and it is being pretty obvious with their recent form. They have lost in 4 of their last 5 games, and are now sitting in 9^th position with a total of 51 points. We know that the coach has not extended his contract, and a couple key players are already in negotiation with their future club. That’s why it is hard to expect anything from this squad who will definitely have failed in confirming after their last year’s title. At home they are still doing very well though, with a 11-4-3 record.

MONTPELLIER – LILLE BETTING TIPS

The odd for a Lille win as already dropped from around 2.6 to 2.1 in a couple days. Montpellier has been very solid at home, but at this point of the season, I don’t think it will matter that much. Lille’s coach Rudi Garcia said that his players bounced back after those two bad performances, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see them winning their last two games. I will go for Lille at 2.1 with Coral.
