MONTPELLIER V VALENCIENNES PREDICTIONS   

Two doubtful teams are about to face each other in this Ligue 1 match.

Montpellier looks like they gave up this season. After a very positive run which brought them close to the top of the table, they have had 3 bad results in a row. It was pretty much expected after their eccentric president told in the press that the current coach, René Girard, wouldn’t be kept from next season on. This is a huge management mistake as he should have kept this confidential, and now many players and the coach are already thinking about their next club. However, in 7th position with 45 points, they are still in good position to get a European ticket. At home, they have a very solid 9-4-2 record (only 10 goals conceded so far at home).

Valenciennes is in even worse shape as they won just one of their last 10 games. The fact that they had an amazing first half of season allowed them not to worry about the relegation. They remain 7 points ahead of Brest (18th) despite this terrible run. When playing away, they have a 2-5-8 record.

MONTPELLIER – VALENCIENNES BETTING TIPS

Montpellier is going to be very difficult to bet on for the remainder of the season. They are in a very awkward and unusual situation. The coach (who took this team in Ligue 2 and took them to the Ligue 1 title) feels betrayed and will obviously care a bit less about his player’s performances.
