PSG V MONTPELLIER PREDICTIONS

This clash between Paris and Montpellier is going to pit the Top 2 of last year’s Ligue 1 table. Montpellier created a huge surprise taking the title to the Parisians, but are struggling this season.

Paris are currently 1^st of Ligue 1 with a total of 58 points collected in 29 games, giving them a 5 points advantage over Lyon (2nd).

When playing in the Parc des Princes, they won 10 of their 15 games, drawing in 3 and losing twice. They are on a streak of 4 home wins in row.

Montpellier is in 7^th position with 45 points, so they will be fighting for a Europa League ticket. They have a poor average record with 4 wins, 2 draws and 8 losses (4 losses in their last 5 trips).

In the last 5 games between those teams, we had 4 draws and one Paris’ win. French internationals  Matuidi and Jallet haven’t practiced with their teammates on Wednesday, after their game against Spain, and could sit on the bench to be ready for Barcelona’s clash.

Paris has a better squad than their guests, but two points will keep me away from a home win. First, because of the International window those last 10 days. Paris’ whole squad had to go all over the world as they are all internationals, and they haven’t practiced with each other at all. Second point, the upcoming game on Tuesday against Barcelona in the first leg of CL’s quarterfinals. A few players have stated that they couldn’t get this game out of their heads, so the motivation will probably not be at its best against Montpellier. That’s why I will go for a draw at 4.33 with Coral.
