RENNES V NICE PREDICTIONS   

This Ligue 1 game will have much more importance for Nice than for the home side.

After St-Etienne’s home draw in the first game of this 35^th round, Nice has a great opportunity to step higher in the ranking. Nice is in 6^th position with 57 points and still very close from a European qualification, which would be much better than their initial expectations. They are in the fight with the Greens and Lille (5^th). Nice is 3-0-2 in the last 5 games, with two losses against the top 2 teams of Ligue 1. When playing away, they have an average 5-5-6 record.

Rennes was also aiming for a European ticket a couple months ago, but after a terrible run they lost any hope. They are currently sitting in 10^th position with 45 points. They won 2-0 in Brest last week, which put an end to a streak of 10 games without a win (2 draws and 8 losses). At home, they won just 6 of their 17 games, drawing in 4 and losing in 7.

Rennes’ coach has stated that we would leave at the end of the season, which can’t be a good thing for a squad who already has nothing left to play for. We can imagine that Rennes will be much less involved and focused than Nice who still has high ambitions.
