BORUSSIA DORTMUND V AUGSBURG PREDICTIONS

Dortmund are looking to secure second place while Augsburg are fighting for their Bundesliga life at the bottom of the table.

Dortmund are currently 2^nd in the Bundesliga with 52 points from 27 matches, which leaves them a huge 20 points behind leaders Bayern Munich.  Dortmund have a 4 point lead over 3^rd place Leverkusen and will be hopeful of increasing this gap so they can concentrate more on the Champions League.  In the Bundesliga Dortmund have won 3 of their last 4 matches and have a few easy games ahead which should allow them to rest players and get the squad fit.  In the Champions League they drew 0-0 with Malaga in the first leg of their quarter final which will give Dortmund the advantage for the return leg at home.  They will be weary of a Malaga away goal meaning they need to win the match but they will still be big favourites when it comes.

Augsburg are 16^th in the table with 24 points from 27 matches which leaves them in the playoff spot for relegation.  They are 5 points from guaranteed safety and have a 4 point lead over the automatic relegation spot so this looks like their most likely finishing position.  With 3 wins in their last 5 games their sights will definitely be ahead of them but it’ll take a big effort to close the gap.
