The main reason for this bet is that Gladbach has had a more competitive pre-season build-up than Leverkusen. They played well against Young Boys earlier this week (won a whopping 6-1), and also did ok in the German cup. The players have had some good match training, and I also believe that the team has improved in defence during the transfer window. In offence they are looking good, and Raffael has continued where he left off last season (scoring three times against Young Boys).
Leverkusen is naturally a very solid team. They have made some smart purchases in the transfer window, and will be a very tough team to beat for most teams.
