Braunschweig v Werder Bremen predictions

Eintracht Braunschweig was promoted to the Bundesliga after a good season in Germany’s second highest tier. They were impressive at home, managing 10-6-1 in 17 matches. Werder Bremen has been a midtable team for some time now ranging from 34(last season) to 42 points in the last three years and from 14^th place, last season to 9^th. Read on to get my predictions for the season, and the betting tips for this game!

Braunschweig info and predictions

Eintracht Braunschweig has played a number of preseason games with mixed results. It’s hard to read much out of those. A 4-0 loss against Athletic Bilbao and a 3-0 loss against West ham indicate they have some defensive issues that need to be ironed out perhaps. None of their key players have left this transfer window. They have brought in Oehrl who can play anywhere in the centre midfield positions, and attacking midfielder Hochscheidt from Erzgebirge Aue. Simeon Jackson (offensive player), Perthel (Midfield) and Caliguri (Versatile, left side player) has also joined.

I think Braunschweig will find it tough in the Bundesliga. A lot of teams have improved, and I am not convinced they have brought in enough quality to survive. It will certainly be a tough test for them.

Werder Bremen info and predictions

Papastathopoulos (Central Defender) has gone to Dortmund. Obviously that is a big loss for Werdr Bremen. The club has however invested wisely. They’ve brought in Caldirola (Central Defender) who featured for Italy in the Under 21 European championship this summer. Makiadi has also come into the side. He is a very capable central midfielder. The versatile Caligiuri who plays anywhere down the left side as well as the center of midfield is a decent signing too. They’ve retained Petersen (Forward) after he came through for them last season.

It will be very tough for Braunschweig to keep their excellent home form from 2.  Bundesliga, but looking at the last three years Werder Bremen hasn’t done much away from home. On average they’ve won 3.33 games out of 17 away (looking at the last three years again). This is possibly one of those games they can win, but 3/2 (2.50) just isn’t attractive at all. I can't recomend this as a betting tips, when I personally would never touch it unless the odds were well over 3.00. Out of the home win and the draw it is the draw odds at 12/5 (3.40) that interest me the most, and that is my betting tips for the 1x2 on this game. It is a decent compromise between the eagerness of the newcomer to the Bundesliga to impress, and the better side overall visiting.
