Dortmund is 4-2-2 at home this season in the Bundesliga. Nurnberg is 2-2-5 away. Form wise; Dortmund won their first game after the winter break 5-0 away to Werder Bremen. As I predicted, they won due to superior attacking players, able to convert chances created. Sahin, came in towards the end, and thereby got his first few minutes since he left the club for Real Madrid. Nurnberg drew HSV at home. Both the two latest Bundesliga ties between the two in Dortmund has ended 2-0 for the home side. The reverse fixture this season ended a 1-1 draw.  Dortmund was the better side in that match, but failed to convert more than 1 goal from 20 shots.

No suspensions for either side. Subotic is still out for Dortmund. Other than that both sides should be able to pick their best players.  Nurnberg will run into problems like most sides do against Dortmund, however, they will be fairly confident as they’ve only lost once in the last seven Bundesliga games. Four out of those seven has also ended a draw. If they can stay compact here, they might get something out of the game.  It is just that I can’t see it happening. Not all of these will start, but: Gotze, Reus, Lewandowski, Blaszczykowski, Bender, Sahin, Grosskreutz and Gundogan are world class players. Nurnberg is more than in over their head.
