Both Freiburg and Eintracht Frankfurt are candidate for European football next season. Freiburg is 4th in the Bundesliga while Freiburg ranks 5th. Only three points separate the two after twenty two matches played.

That game could have gone either way really. Frankfurt dominated possession over 90 minutes, but Freiburg was definitely dangerous going forward.

Freiburg: Sebastian Freis (Attacker) will be missing. He hasn’t taken part since 01.12. Other than that Freiburg has a fit and ready squad.

Frankfurt: Takashi Inui (Midfielder) is out. He is suspended, and will definitely be missed as he is a key member of the first eleven. New January recruit Srdan Lakic (Striker) will sit this one out due to injury. Lakic has played in the last three games. He has scored two goals (both against HSV in his debut).

In general it is their great home stats that put them where they are on the table. I also have to add that missing both Inui and Lakic is definitely a setback offensively.

Freiburg is really tough to beat at home. In their last ten Bundesliga home games they’re 5-2-3. Their losses have come to Werder Bremen, Dortmund and Bayern Munich. They have no injury worries really, and they’re coming off back to back wins. Definitely a home win shout!
