Bayer Leverkusen meet up with Freiburg with a win a must after an opening day defeat. Joint manager's Lewandowski and Hyypia have a difficult task on their hands.Freiburg did not look great in a draw with Mainz and will hope to snatch a point at the BayArena.

Bayer Leverkusen lost several key players over the summer with Ballack, Barnetta and Derdiyok all leaving. Vedran Corluka loan spell is up and he will be missed.The replacements are all younger players but one with some potential. In come highly rated Phillip Wollscheid, Junior Fernandez and Daniel Ramos. Leverkusen had a poor result losing to Frankfurt after leading for most of the game. Playing an attacking 4-5-1 formation they looked ok for most parts of the game. Star man Andre Schurrle was the standout player. Freiburg made very few signings, Max Kruse the most high profile player but none really stood out. They lost a few squad players over the summer but they are not a team to spend money. They banked a lot from the Papiss Cisse transfer but still are yet to invest. The have a real problem scoring goals and will struggle this season. They played a 4-4-2 formation in the 1-1 home draw with Mainz. A game with few clear cut chances and a game of little quality play.
