Gladbach v Bayern Munich predictions
Borussia Moenchen Gladbach v Bayern Munich is the opener of the 2013/2014 Bundesliga campaign. It should be quite a game to watch if the teams go at it like they did last season.
Gladbach has a very talented young squad. They had several players involved for various sides at the International level youth tournaments this summer. They've built on that platform with the highly rated attacking midfielder Max Kruse. I am sure he will be a hit at the Borussia Park.
Bayern Munich has released Mario Gomez and Emre Can. Petersen had a good season at Bremen last season and has now completed his move there. Defensive midfielder Tymoshchuk has left his fringe role for more game time in Zenit. Bayern Munchen has brought in Central midfielder Thiago Alcantara from Barcelona and the slightly more offensive Mario Gotze of rival Dortmund. Defender Kirchhoff (Defender) has proven his quality over time and was rewarded with a move to Bayern too.
Pre Season
Bayern Munich visited Gladbach on the 21st of July and left with a 5-1 win. However, the Gladbach boys must have been tired after beating Dortmund 1-0 just the day before. In the cup game against Darmstadt 98 on the 04.08 Gladbach went out on penalties. Coach Favre clearly can't be satisfied with that.
Bayern Munchen lost 4-2 to Dortmund in a thrilling Super Cup game, but beat Manchester City, Sao Paolo and Barcelona among others. Like last season it looks like the ruthlessness is still intact. Make mistakes against Bayern, and you PAY! Bayern Munchen had no problem overcoming SW Rehden in the DFB pokal game recently. Bayern won 5-0 away.
Recent history
Since and including 2012 the sides have met four times in competitive games at the Borussia Park. Gladbach has won once. Twice it has ended a draw after 90 minutes and Bayern Munich has won once. Two of those games went over 2.5 goals.
In the game last season Bayern won 3-4 after being down 3-1 after ten minutes. Bayern deserved the win though. They really were all over the place, creating fantastic football.

Bayern Munich is a great side, but here I think the odds are just too low. It makes perfect sense though as everyone and their neighburs probably get on Bayern here. For me though: Gladbach has a wonderful side brewing and allthough they've looked shaky, they have performed really well against Bayern in the past.
