LEVERKUSEN V MAINZ : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIP 1x2
With last weeks loss in Wolfsburg, Leverkusen (14-1-7) have now lost their last four in all competitions, and have won just two of their last seven in the league. Remarkably they still sit second in the table, albeit a full nineteen points behind leaders Bayern. Scoring is certainly an issue, with just three scored in the last five, and Hyypia must be concerned. Mainz (10-4-8) on the other hand have lost just once in eight, winning four of their last six. They are in contention for a Europa place, and will feel it may be a good time to be visiting Leverkusen. Spahic(def) and Castro(mid) suspensions arefurther blows to Leverkusen along with the continued absence of key midfielder Robbie Kruse. Mainz is also dealt a suspension blow, with main man Nicolae Muller ruled out.
A quote of 1.80(4/5)Coral for a Leverkusen win has tempted me into a bet on the 1X2 market. Most recent form may not be great, but Leverkusen have not suddenly became a bad side, and still have second position. Not too long ago you would have snapped up quotes of 1.50, and 1.80 is something of an overreaction I reckon. Add in the fact that Mainz are without their best player to suspension, and a bet on Leverkusen becomes ever more appealing at these odds.
