Mainz 05 has four draws in a row in the Bundesliga. This against not so impressive opposition. It must be said they played Schalke in this interval, but the Gelsenkirchen team was really out of form at the moment. Her Mainz will have to be without defender Radoslav Zabravnik who is suspended. He will join still injured defenders Junior Diaz and Jan Kirchenhoff on the sidelines. Colombian midfielder Soto is still out. The good news is that their star striker, Hungarian Adam Szalai is fit and ready. He got 10 minutes against Fortuna and is likely to get a lot more minutes, or even a start here.

I have previously questioned Leverkusen's form. I am still not entirely convinced, allthough it must be said that Leverkusen really ran over Stuttgart last match day. Overall Leverkusen is undefeated in their four latest Bundesliga matches. That definitely counts for something. The only team news worth mentioning is that Philipp Wollscheid (Defender) is suspended for this clash.

The reverse fixture this season ended 2-2. Leverkusen was perhaps the best team on the night, but needed a late goal from star performer Castro to keep hold of one point.
