SCHALKE 04 V HAMBURGER SV PREDICTIONS

Schalke need to get back to winning ways if they want to hang onto 4^th spot while Hamburger could overtake them with an away win here.

Schalke are currently 4^th in the Bundesliga with 46 points from 30 matches which gives them a 1 point lead over the chasing pack.  They have 4 sides with within just 2 points of them so any slip up and they’ll lose places, making a win here all the more important.  They lost a very important match last week against 6^th place Frankfurt and before that drew with 3^rd place Leverkusen, a win in either of those games would have given them a buffer but now they have no margin for error.

Hamburger are 8^th in the Bundesliga with 44 points from 30 games which leaves them just 1 point behind a Europa League spot and 2 points behind their opponents today in the final Champions League spot.  They have found some much needed form lately and won two straight games but this will be a very tough test for them.

Schalke have injuries to Farfan, Obasi, Pliatsikas, Afellay and Papadopoulos while Marco Hoger is suspended.  Hamburger have Milan Badelj and Marcus Berg injured and suspensions for Dennis Diekmeier and Max Beister.
