Werder Bremen opened with a 1-0 win away to newly promoted Braunschweig.  Over the course of 90 minutes that was a pretty close game. Werder Bremen should have no new injury worries or suspensions to deal with.

Augsburg lost 4-0 away to Dortmund. They never came close to getting anything out of the game. Augsburg has not reported new injury worries or suspension. As I said in my predictions for the Bundesliga Matchday 1; I do think Augsburg will find it very tough this year.

Werder Bremen lost to Augsburg both home and away last season.  When they met at Weserstadion Augsburg won 1-0. Augsburg scored within the first half an hour and countered well from there on. Werder had most of the possession but couldn’t make it count as they were denied by the woodwork twice and saw Augsburg keeper Amsif pull out a couple of wonderful stops. In 2011/2012 they played two 1-1 draws.

I do however rate Werder Bremen the better team, and if they can play like they did against Augsburg last year they’ll have a good chance of winning. Had they looked behind the last game I am sure those odds would be lower.

This does look like an Under 2.5 game. Werder Bremen will work hard to unlock the Augsburg defense that will fight with what they got. Sure, they lost 4-0 to Dortmund, but the opposition here doesn't have the same offensive firepower. The odds on offer are great as well as Bet365 racks up 1/1 (2.00).
