Bremen (5-7-10) have failed to win in five games since the Christmas break, and with only one win in eleven they are at the wrong end of the table. They will hope to uphold a good home record against fellow strugglers Hamburg, in what is an important game for both struggling sides. Hamburg (5-4-13) followed an eight game losing streak with a remarkable 3-0 win against Dortmund last week. It was third boss of the season Slomka’s first game in charge, and what a start it was! Still in real danger of going down, Hamburg need to build on that result, but if they can keep that spirit they should be OK. Caldirola(def) and Kroos(mid) are out suspended for Bremen, while Hamburg have Westermann, Lam(def),Ilicevic and Beister(mid) out injured, but captain Van Der Vaart should be available again.

What a difference a week makes in football. Hamburg after seemingly losing the plot in recent months bounced back in style under the new coach in a 3-0 win over Dortmund.
