GRONINGEN V AJAX : PREDICTIONS AND BETTING TIPS

Groningen started well with two wins, but crashed back to earth with a 4-1 away loss to newly promoted Cambuur, before a 3-3 draw at another promoted side Go Ahead Eagles, where they finished the match with nine men after two sending offs. Hardly ideal preparation for the visit of giants Ajax. Letschert and Adorjan will be missing following last weeks red cards, forward De Leeuw misses out and midfielder Bos is out long term.

Ajax have had a tough start and have seven points from the opening four games. Last weeks 3-3 away draw at Heerenveen saw them enjoy a huge 72% possession yet just six shots on target is a poor return. Another worry is that they have conceded seven in the last three.  Defender Alderweireld is close to signing for Atletico and Eriksen has moved to Tottenham, two massive losses to the squad. Defender Blind is out with a groin strain,and Swiss mid Siem De Jong is also out.

In previous meetings ten of the last eleven games have been won to nil, although this years defensive records make it hard to see that happening here. Ajax have won seven of the last nine meetings, and have won all of the last four between the two.
