This is a fourth round match in the Dutch Eresdivisie and Heerenveen are hosting Ajax. Heerenveen finished in eighth place last season, and this season they are expected to finish in similar fashion. They have so far won two matches and lost one, beating AZ at home and NAC Breda away, and losing at home to Heracles. Last weekend they played Heracles at home and lost it surprisingly 4-2 in a poor performance. They had 57% of the possession, but lost both attempts and shots on target stats, and in general they gave away too many free-kicks around the box and Heracles were effective scoring four times on eight shots on target. Ajax won the league last season seven points ahead of second place PSV. This season they are favourites to win it again, and it is expected that only PSV can challenge them for the league title.
