PSV EINDHOVEN – NEC NIJMEGEN: PREDICTIONS

A derby of sorts in Holland as PSV Eindhoven host NEC Breda, it looks a one sided match but stranger things have happened.

PSV Eindhoven have amassed 21 Dutch titles but have been a bit dry since 2008. Last season they looked good for crack at the top but found Ajax just too strong. PSV finished 2^nd and 7 points behind their big rivals. PSV did rack up an astonishing 103 goals and averaged 4.3 per game which is a ridiculous statistic. They have opened up the season well with 1 league wins and 2 Champions League wins over Zulte Waregem of Belgium. Its business as usual for PSV as they have scored 9 and conceded just 2 in the three matches.

NEC Nijmegen opened up with a horrible result, losing 4-1 at home to unfancied Groningen. NEC had very little cash to spend in the transfer market, Having to rely on free transfers. They did bring in a few players, Michael Higdon of Motherwell could be a decent striker but he needs to adjust to the better standard in Holland for sure.  No-one else stands out of the incoming players and the opening day loss confirms it could be a long season for NEC.
