UTRECHT – GO AHEAD EAGLES: PREDICTIONS        

Utrecht host the fantastically named Go Ahead Eagles in this Netherlands Eridivisie match.

Utrecht are long time members of the Eridivisie with only 1 season outside the topflight since the early 1970’s. They have shown steady improvement and over the last few seasons have been the most consistent side outside the big four of AZ, Feyenoord, PSV & Ajax. The side is a strong one and although containing few star names can gain a scalp or two of the bigger sides. A few injury worries for Utrecht and 1^st eleven men missing too.  Sitting out is Sarota, Duplan and Van Der Gun while key man De Ridder is struggling with his match fitness and will be tested just before the game.

Go Ahead Eagles can usually be found in the Erste Division but last year gained promotion and a spot in Eridivisie for the 1^st time since 1996. The side from Deventer actually owns four titles but they were all won before the 1940’s. Go Ahead Eagles could struggle big time in the top flight and are joint favourite for the drop with Cambuur. Out injured for the game is starter Spanjaard while suspended are defensive starting pair Vriends and Ostinjen. Two squad members Godee and Krijins are injured too.

This game looks very likely to be a home win for me as there is a huge gulf in class between the two sides. A few problems for Utrecht though but I think their squad is still good enough to beat Eagles without a few key men. I take Utrecht -0.75 at 1.90 with bet365.
