MALI V NIGERIA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Time for the first semi-finals of the African Cup of Nations between Mali and Nigeria. These two teams have met each other four times in the past 11 years. Nigeria has the best record with two wins and two draws. They are also the favourites in this match-up.                                               

Mali beat South Africa in the quarter-finals after penalties. The former Barcelona midfielder Seydou Keita scored the equalizer in the 58^th minute and 1-1 stood until it was time for shootout. Seydou Keita has been their key player the entire tournament, the whole team relies on him. If they want to stand a chance against the dangerous Nigeria he once again needs to pull some magic off. He is their best striker so far in the tournament with two goals. He also had a long conversation with the team and reporters about the crisis in Mali which was very inspiring for the players.

Nigeria didn’t lose a game in their group and have been playing a very fun and offensive football so far.  They showed in their last match-up against the favourites Ivory Coast that they are a force to be reckoned with. They won 2-1 in a very tight game after goals by E.Emenike and S.Mba.  Their go to guy has been Emenike, he has been terrific so far and is their best striker with three goals.
