MOROCCO V SOUTH AFRICA PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Last game before the quarter-finals in the African Cup of Nations between Morocco and South Africa. Morocco with two draws so far will face the leaders of group “A” South Africa. Last time these two teams met were in 2004 and that game ended with a draw 1-1.

Morocco opened this tournament against Angola 0-0, in their second game they met Cape Verde Islands and that game also ended in a draw 1-1. They have five wins, five draws and five losses in their last 15 games. Their away record is one win, three draws and one loss in their last five matches. Last time Morocco won the African Cup of Nations was 1976 in Ethiopia, there best finish since then is 2004 when they came second after losing the finals to the hostess Tunisia.

South Africa played pretty poor in their opening game versus Cape Verde Islands but they managed to at least draw. South Africa have now not won a match in the Africa Cup of Nations since 2004, having failed to register a victory in 2006 and 2008 and they did not qualify in 2010 and 2012 but, next game against Angola they showed their home crowd that they were a force to be reckoned with. The hostess of 2013 African Cup of Nations put on a show and won 2-0 and thereby secured the leader spot in group “A”. Last time they won the AFCON were at home soil in 1996, will they bring the trophy back home again?
