Arsenal v Dortmund predictions & betting tips

My betting prediction is that Arsenal is close to their very best, and Dortmund is slowly but surely edging their way to the same level of form. Both Arsenal and Dortmund have what it takes to go far in the 2013/2014 UEFA Champions League no doubt! This should be an entertaining game between two teams that likes to play the ball on the ground and are known to create plenty from open play.

Both have a few first 11 players out injured. Arsenal may get Theo Walcott ready, but will they field him so soon after injury in a game like this? Podolski, Diaby and Oxelade-Chamberlain are all definitely out. Flamini is a doubt, but should feature. Dortmund misses Gundogan.Hummels and Schmelzer are doubts.

Arsenal clearly wasn’t comfortable playing German sides last season as they lost both to Schalke and Bayern Munich at home. However, I think this is a much improved Arsenal side. Especially Ozil has brought a new dimension to this side. They always looked a threat, but with him on the pitch the chances they create are even more dangerous than before. In their first Champions League group stage game Arsenal beat Napoli 2-0. The win was much deserved.

Dortmund is an awesome side, but to me they still haven’t found the rhythm in attack that they had last season. In their first Champions League game of the season they lost 2-1 away to Napoli. They did have to play a full half with 10 men though, and still created some chances, especially towards the end. In general playing away from home in the Champions League has been tough for Dortmund. Only one of their last ten matches has yielded a win!

My first betting tip is Arsenal. They have continued their fine form from the second half of last season domestically into this one.
