Bayer Leverkusen is second in the Bundesliga, but has been in questionable form as of late. They’ve lost four of their last six Bundesliga matches. They also fielded a relatively strong side against Kaiserslautern in the German Cup, and still couldn’t win. In the weekend they lost 2-1 at home against Schalke. To make matters worse: Here the very versatile, talented young midfielder Emre Can is suspended.

In the Champions League Leverkusen beat Real Sociedad 2-1 and Shakhtar Donetsk 4-0. Against Man U they collapsed and lost 0-5 at home. As you can see, all those fixtures went over 2.5, and two of them over 3.5 goals.

PSG is top of the table in France. There is nothing wrong with their form either. Here Cavani (World Class striker) and Jallet (Right back) are sitting out due to injury. In the Champions League the Parisians have been very solid away from home. Since and including 2012 they are 5-1-2 with a goal difference of 17-5 away. Three of those wins have been to nil and they scored two or more in all those five matches.

Run of play

In my opinion it is likely that Leverkusen coach Hyypia will allow PSG to have more of the ball. He probably will involve the speedy Sidney Sam after he sat out against Schalke in the weekend. Leverkusen will be going for quick counter attacks, unleashing Son, Sam and Kiessling on the Parisians. Will PSG be scared? No, not at all! PSG has player material to both control matches and counter. Cavani is a big miss of course, but with Ibrahimovic up front and goal threat from several other players they are a force.
