Benfica v Anderlecht predictions & betting tips

Benfica is 2-1-1 domestically. This side was so close to capturing titles last season, but they lost it all in the last weeks of their campaign. Benfica has invested heavily in the transfer market this season. Especially Lazar Markovic (Serbian attacker) has impressed so far with two goals in three. He is one of several Serbs brought in. They’ve missed their talisman Cardozo for parts of the early season, but he is back and should play here. Some other players that has been carrying knocks are ready too, but  Amorim, Gaitan, Salvio and Silvio will definitely sit out.

I expect this to be a Benfica side like we have come to know them throughout the years. At home they’re tough as nails!

Anderlecht is 5-0-2 seven games into their season. They’ve lost Mbokani, De Sutter and Biglia who were influential for them last season. They’ve brought in some promising players but I have a feeling they won’t be of the same strength as the side that drew AC Milan and Malaga away from home in the Champions League last season. Anderlecht has a full squad to choose from.

Benfica v Anderlecht betting tips

To me Benfica at home looks a tough ask for this Anderlecht side. Benfica has been in the Europa top for a long time, and they have a better team player by player. I do not see the visitors get anything out of this game. Benfica -1 at 1.82 (33/40) with Bet365 looks the best betting option to me as I think Benfica really can hurt this Anderlecht side. Should Benfica win only by one goal at least we will get our money back. I much prefer this over the 1x2 odds.
