CELTIC – CLIFTONVILLE: PREDICTIONS

Celtic Park is the ground for one of the biggest games in Cliftonvilles history, the tie is over but the Northern Irish champions will surely enjoy their big day in European Champions League.

Celtic are through to the next round for sure so this game is little more than a warm up match. 3-0 up from a formality of a 1^st leg the Scottish Champions are already looking ahead to the tie with Elfsborg.  A huge problem I have with Celtic is they are getting weaker by the year, they are still a formidable opponent in Glasgow for any team on the continent but the level of quality in the squad shrinks every season.  A few injuries of note for Celtic, Joe Ledley in midfield misses out as do three starters in the backline: Matthews, Mulgrew and Van Dijk.

Cliftonville made their final the day they were drawn with Celtic, a massive payday and chance for  a big day out for the Irish boys in Glasgow. But that’s all it will be for Cliftonville, a part time club who cannot hope to compete against the Scots. At home they done well to contain Celtic to 3, at Celtic Park it could be a drubbing.
