Celtic v Shakhter Karagandy predictions & betting tips
Celtic takes on Shakhter Karagandy at the Celtic Park in Glasgow in this second leg of the Champions League qualification. Celtic has their work cut out for them as the Kazak club has a 2-0 lead going into the tie.
Celtic is 2-1-0 domestically. They have a slightly improved their injury situation, but Beram Kayal (Regular Midfielder) is ruled out. He has been playing the same role as Wanyama did, and with some success. Regular midfielder Kris Commons is a doubt, but the offensive trio: Anthony Stokes, Georgios Samaras, Derk Boerrigter all could feature again.
Shakhter Karagandy is in midseason. They drew Irtysh in the weekend with their second string more or less, so they should be rested and ready for this massive clash.
Run of Play
Celtic had most of the possession in the first leg, and here they will be at it again. They’ll need to be ready for the counter attack threat Shakhter Karagandy displayed in the first leg so they will have to find that fine line between great offensive football and headless chicken football.

Celtic isn’t as strong as they were last year. I am also fearful they won’t be keeping a clean sheet against a very strong Shakhter side. Keep in mind they did knock out BATE Borisov, a team that beat the Champions League winners last season. With their first eleven taking a breather in the weekend they should be ready to keep Celtic at bay.
My betting tip is Shakhter Karagandy +2 with Paddy Power priced at a whopping 4/5 (1.80). I mean, that price is set knowing UK players will be all over Celtic for sentimental reasons. I rate this one of the better value plays I’ve seen in a while.
