The tie of the round takes place in Istanbul as two genuine big guns go at it. Fenerbahce will be sick to have drawn Ukraine giants Donetsk while the visitors themselves cannot be happy about the level of difficulty of their tie when you look at some of the other qualifiers. The Turkish side have 28 league titles and 7 since the turn of the century. In Europe they generally go well but can come unstuck against the big teams. Last year they lost in the playoff round to Arsenal (Eng) after beating Salzburg (Aus) and the year before similar with a loss to Spartak Moscow (Rus) after beating Vaslui (Rom) Overall in Europe they have a ranking of 75. Recent years have seen the loss of many of their top players, the war against Russia has seen new “foreigners” reluctant to join the club. Douglas and Luiz Adriano were both sold. While all games are played in Lviv away from the fighting. Shaktar have played 2 games so far in Ukraine and are 2 wins with 6 goals scored already.

This game will be cagey as hell in what Fenerbahce fans will try and make “a hell” for the Ukranians. I cannot see anything other than a nervy 90 minutes but think that the Turks will have enough to take a sneaky 1-0 to Lviv. We take the -0.25 at 9-10 or 1.90 at bet365.
