Both sides were regulars in the competition in years gone by and both made major impacts in the later rounds often. Recently its been a bit barren for both as their leagues hit a decline. Recent revivals for both sides has resulted in both going on fine runs. Monaco dispatched Arsenal with some clinical football while Juventus destroyed Borussia Dortmund. Going into this one Juventus are strolling Serie A again and sit atop the league with a 12 point lead over Roma in 2^nd after 30 games. They lost at the weekend to bottom club Parma (they did rest players) which put an end to a run of six consecutive victories. They must do it without star man Paul Pogba. Also out here are Asamoah, Caceres, Marrone and Romulo. Pirlo is not at full fitness as he struggles with a calf injury and Barzagli is doubtful too. Monaco surprised everyone by  battering Arsenal at the Emirates and proving they had returned to the big stage. In France they are in 3^rd position, struggling a little trying to battle on two fronts with the Champions League having an effect on the smaller squad.  Traore misses out for the visitors.

Juventus have to do without Pogba and they don’t have the quality to replace the Frenchman.  The Italians may win this game but giving Monaco a 1.25 goal start seems to much to me. We get paid on a Monaco win or draw, a 1 goal loss sees half a win and half stakes returned.
