When the draw was made it seemed to be a perfect match for both teams. Of all the teams left the big three of Barce, Bayern and Real Madrid all wanted Juventus. The Italians if pushed would have taken Madrid. The Old Lady of Turin have had an excellent campaign, going as far as any side from Italy has in many years.  They have long since secured another Serie A title even though they still have 4 games left. They have only lost 3 in the league all season – at home in Serie A they  have won 15 and drew 2 of 17 games. In UCL this season they have managed 7 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. Home form sees 4 wins and 1 draw.  Juventus have a long list of injuries with Caceres, Marrone, Romulo,Asamoah and crucially Pogba out. Real Madrid are 2^nd in La Liga with a 2 point deficit to overhaul on Barce. They have just three games left to make the points up.  In UCL this year they have 8 wins, 1 draw and 1 loss with 22 goals scored and 6 conceded. They conceded 4 in the only loss to Schalke in a freak game. So they have only conceded 2  in 9 Champions League matches with 7 clean sheets! Crucially for them they have Modric and Benzema out, however they have absolute top quality replacements.

I think it will be a close game early on. I have the Italians down for trying to keep themselves in the tie. They know they cannot open up at any time or face being punished. It’s a very tough gameplan for them. I take Real Madrid -0.25 – which means we get paid on the Madrid win, while a draw gets half stake return.
