Champions League qualifiers and it’s a long way from Barcelona against Juventus. We have an opening match of low quality but that’s not to say there isn’t a betting angle. We have Lincoln Red Imps of Gibraltar against Santa Coloma of Andorra.  They have won 20 of the 24 Gibraltar titles and have taken the last 12 consecutively. They have only played one tie in European competition – taking a home draw with Torshavn before losing 5-2 at the Faroe Islands home base. Santa Coloma come into this one in a similar situation to the hosts. They have taken 9 of the last 12 league titles. In Europa they have only actually gone through 1 round (last year when they beat Banants of Armenia on away goals. They have played 24 matches and have 2 wins, 1 draw and 21 losses. Not a great return but Banants are a better side than Lincoln Red Imps and they have a lot more experience than the home side that’s for sure. Santa Coloma are ranked over 100 places above Lincoln by UEFA but this is more to do with the lack of games for the Gibraltar side.

 

This is a tough game for both sides, Lincoln don’t have much experience at all playing just the two matches – while Santa Coloma have the experience but little in the way of positive results. They have definatley improved though and are no longer the whipping boys. I take the draw and Santa Coloma at 4-5 or 1.80 with Bet365.
