NORDSJAELLAND V SHAKHTAR PREDICTIONS AND PREVIEW: BETTING STATS AND FACTS

Nordsjaelland are currently 2^nd in the Superliga with 32 points from 17 games, winning 9, drawing 5 and losing 3.  They are 6 points behind leaders Copenhagen but have been on better form recently winning 4 of their last 5 with one draw.  In the Champions League they have just 1 point from 4 matches after a 1-1 home draw with Juventus but have been outscored by a total of 11-1.

Shakhtar are easily top of the Ukrainian Premier League with 45 points from 16 matches.  That’s 15 wins and just a single defeat, which came this past weekend in a 2-0 away loss to Arsenal Kiev.  In the Champions League  Shakhtar are 2^nd in the group with 7 points from 4 matches and a win in this game will see them into the knockout stages.

Nordsjaelland caused an upset last season when they beat Copenhagen to the title for the first time in 4 years, having not even finished in the top 2 before.  They will find it difficult to retain the title this year but are having a good go at it and are 2^nd in the table, the extra money from this group stage appearance will certainly help the club going forward.

Shakhtar are in immense form domestically and will win the title for a 4^th straight season.  They are looking to turn this domestic dominance into a real challenge for honours in Europe but they reigned in investment this summer with a net profit in transfers, after a €17m spend last year.  It’ll be tough to match the high revenue, big spending clubs around Europe but they are performing excellently and are in great shape to knock one of Europe’s biggest clubs in Chelsea or Juventus out of the competition.
