One of the games of the day in UCL as two old giants go head to head. Rapid Vienna of Austria are 32 times national champions but have none since 2008. They have made to European finals in their history but lost both. In Europe they are ranked 121 which is low for a team of their stature. Recent years in Europe have seen little success of qualifying through rounds. Ajax of Amsterdam are in a similar state to the home side. The talent drain in Holland means that not many teams can keep hold of players once the bigger teams come calling. Ajax have 33 league titles and 4 of the last 5 years that have taken the championship. They have 4 Champions League titles and 1 Europa League also. Last year they contested an almost impossible group in UCL with Barcelona and PSG, alongside APOEL Nicosia. Ajax finished 3rd and moved into Europa League were they beat Legia Warsaw before losing to Dnipro on away goals.
A good game in Austria but I feel Ajax are underated even without the big names players they usually have. Rapid are a decent side domestically but Austrian Bundesliga is below Netherlands in quality. I take Ajax on draw no bet.
