Real Madrid v Schalke should be an interesting Champions League tie. Here are my betting predictions for this game:

Form has seemingly deserted Real Madrid at a crucial time. They have lost top spot in La Liga and now trail Barce by 1 point – not exactly the end of the world but a problem. Recent form in all competitions shows 5 wins, 1 draw and 2 losses – but there is a 4-0 rout by local rivals Atletico in that run.  Madrid will miss Abner and Rodriguez for this one with Modric and Ramos doubts. Schalke must score three without reply and there more chance of me signing for them than that.

Schalke will seek to enjoy the day and that’s about it. In Bundesliga they are in 5^th with 38 points from 24 games. Recent form for them sees 3 wins, 2 draws and 3 defeats. They could also have an entire team out here such is the extent of their injury crisis. Out for sure are Draxler, Boateng, Fahrmann and Obasi. Doubts remain over Giefa, Goretka, Kirchkoff, Kolanasic and Matip – hardly the greatest preparation for a visit to the Bernabeu.

A boost is required for Madrid as they seek to move into the last stages of the Champions League and a unprecedented 11^th title. They are in mixed form and I can see the crowd getting on their backs again here unless they win well. With just Rodriguez missing from the Galacticos attack I see another big win here. We need a win by 3 goals here for full payment. A 2 goal win sees half a win and half stakes returned.
