SCHALKE v BASEL: 1x2 BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS
Schalke go into this game knowing only a win is good enough to take them into the knockout stages. They sit in 3rd position in the Group with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. Schalke beat Basel 1-0 in Switzerland but find themselves in a one off game knockout to stay in the competition. Basel are in the driving seat as they know a draw is good enough and will try and dictate the tempo. Basel are in this position thanks to two excellent wins against group leaders Chelsea. Amazingly they have not won another game in the group – drawing twice to Steaua and losing to Schalke.
A close game this one and a chance for both sides to make the knockout stages. A win is all that can take Schalke through while a draw or win is good enough for Basel. Both sides have claims but I think a full house for the home team and a game plan will be too much for Basel. Schalke are a better allround team and will take the game in a low scoring encounter.
