SCHALKE v BASEL: TOTAL GOALS BETTING TIPS AND PREDICTIONS

Schalke go into this game knowing only a win is good enough to take them into the knockout stages. They sit in 3^rd position in the Group with 2 wins, 1 draw and 2 defeats. Schalke beat Basel 1-0 in Switzerland but find themselves in a one off game knockout to stay in the competition.   Basel are in the driving seat as they know a draw is good enough and will try and dictate the tempo. Basel are in this position thanks to two excellent wins against group leaders Chelsea. Amazingly they have not won another game in the group – drawing twice to Steaua and losing to Schalke.

This will be a very cagey affair with neither team likely to smash the other off the park. Basel just need a draw so wont commit themselves too much. Schalke will go after the win but without leaving much open at the back. If they concede they have to score twice at least. Goals averages are low in this Group and these two teams the lowest.
