Albania hosting Northern Ireland’s finest is a strange one for “bet of the day” but here we are. Skenderbeu are 6 times champions, doesn’t seem a great amount but they won the last 5 consecutively after a barren half century.  With the club going nowhere in the mid 2000’s they turned to the wealth of Red Bull and haven’t looked back since. In Europe they have had 12 matches and seen 4 wins, 3 draws and 5 losses. They have been hamstrung by difficult ties but on no occasion have they disgraced themselves. Look at the results – wins over Debrecen (Hungary) Neftchi Baku (Azer) Shakhtar Karagandy (Kazak)  even Ukranians Chernomorets were beaten.  At home they have only lost 1 match in their recent history (3 wins, 2 draws) so are a heavy task to any side. That this years visitors are Northern Irish should suit the Albanians. Crusaders have progressed through 2 ties in their history and both those came in last 2 years. Levadia were beaten over 2 legs with 2 draws. A surprise for me to be truthful. However getting a result in Albania will be a different matter.

The odds are dropping big time here on the home side as the initial 8-11 or 1.72 looks silly. I am fully confident and could even see the tie finished before we even get to Ireland. A -1 handicap means we need a 2 goal win for payout. A 1 goal win sees cash back for us and that’s a handy insurance.
