SLIGO - MOLDE PREDICTIONS

The finest side from the Republic of Ireland last year host Norway’s league winners for a place in the next round of Champions League.

Sligo won the Irish league title for the 1^st time since 1977 and only the 3^rd time in their history. The side, who are owned rather uniquely by their own fans are a modern day success story. Coming out of a financial disaster. Sligo’s European record is disastrous however, reading like a tally of one of the confederations minnows. In 18 matches they have just 1 win, 6 draws and 11 defeats.  The only tie they have progressed through was a game against Maltese side Floriana. The Irish season is in full swing and Sligo sit in 2^nd position.

Molde of Norway grabbed their 1^st league title in 2011 and quickly followed up with their 2^nd last season. The side are marshalled well by up and coming manager and Norwegian legend Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.  In Europe the side has 52 games with 14 wins, 13 draws and 25 defeats. This season though the side have not been at the top of the game, the season is 16 games old and Molde find themselves only 2 points off relegation.

SLIGO - MOLDE: BETTING TIPS  

With the odds moving up on Molde all the time I think bookmakers are over estimating Sligo. Fair enough they are champions and look good for at least a top two finish. Yes also Molde are struggling and are not the side they were over the last two seasons. BUT the gulf in class here is massive, Sligo would not get in the Norway top division, they are made up of part time players. Relying on money making schemes each week to stay afloat. Molde are fully professional and will be more fitter and more technical too. The move against the visitors is baffling for me but good too as we get 2.10 Molde (Coral) which is nice.
