Sociedad are pointless after three Group A games and anything but victory here means they will be out of the running to qualify. They currently sit seventh in La Liga on seventeen points, and a 5-0 home win over Osasuna at the weekend should have lifted confidence ahead of this return fixture. The side seem to be adapting to new coach David Moyes style of play, and have won their last four games in all competitions. Rooney in particular looks to be thriving at present under his old Everton manager. Defenders Rafael and Evans are out for United, while striker Ifran is out for the hosts.
Sociedad really need to go for the win to keep their slim hopes alive, but I don’t see them being good enough.
