St Patrick’s of Republic of Ireland brought a tremendous 1-1 draw back to Dublin as they matched Legia Warsaw in 1st leg. A tie against Celtic awaits the winner here and with pretty much the entire country a Celtic fan this would be a dream tie for the Irishmen. The match has been moved to the larger Tallaght stadium. In the 1st leg Legia did have the lions share of the game but they were very wasteful and did struggle in the final 3rd. St Patricks have a huge advantage with the away goal and that forces Legia onto the front foot. St Patricks are well into their season and it did show as they were fitter and sharper.
With a full goal start on the handicap St Patrick’s are well worth a bet. They had less of the play in Poland but were more incisive and more organized for me. At home they know a 0-0 or a win takes them through so they will for sure try and keep it tight. Legia were awful in the danger areas and St Patricks will know a clean sheet is enough. I take them to do it too.
