Winless Steau Bucharest (0-2-2) have restored pride with back to back draws, and a win here would put them into the qualification mix. Unbeaten in their last seven in all competition, they are currently second in the Romanian league. After opening with two wins Schalke (2-0-2) suffered two heavy losses to Chelsea and need a result here. In Bundesliga they are in sixth place, but appear some way off the quality of the best teams. The reverse fixture was an easy 3-0 Schalke win, but the only previous meeting in Bucharest ended up 0-0. Filip(def) and Pintilii(mid) are injured for Steau, and Schalke have a virus in the squad but Goretzka and Draxler(mid) should be fit. Keeper Hildebrand is a definite injury miss to join long term Huntelaar(str) on the table.
