Zenit St Petersburg are very strong indeed at home in Europe. Thirty wins from forty nine games with just three losses is very healthy indeed. They opened up with a 1-0 away win in Benfica which in itself is brilliant. On the domestic front they top the Russia Prem with 8 wins and 1 draw. No injury problems either for the Russians who ‘rested’ striker Kerhakov for the weekend. Reports of a bust up between him and Villas Boas have been denied but going on AVB England form its likely to be true. Monaco have felt the losses of several high profile players from last year. In Ligue 1 they are in in 12th place with 3 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses. They did start the champions league group with a home win to Leverkusen though. Missing men here too with Lacina Traore , Borja Lopez and Aymen Abdennour all out.
Zenit rarely lose at home and this isn’t a vintage Monaco side. I take the Russians at what look great odds here. Zenit are just in win mode at the moment and I cannot see Monaco matching them at all.
