Brazil v Japan preview
Brazil is finally ready for the Confederations Cup. The tournament is much expected to be a good one for Brazil, and their opening game versus Japan should be a one sided affair according to most experts. Looking at the Brazilian squad all you see is quality! Thiago Silva (PSG) is shoring up the defense with other top players such as Alves (Barcelona) and Luiz (Chelsea). Bayern Munich phenomenon Dante is set for a bench warming role. That says it all! In midfield you find modern, vibrant players such as Lucas (PSG), Oscar (Chelsea), Paulinho (Corinthians) and Luiz Gustavo (Bayern Munich). Up front Neymar (Barcelona) steals the headlines, but Fred (Fluminense) and Hulk (Zenit) deserves a mention too.
So far in June Brazil has played two friendlies. They were held 2-2 by England, but recently beat a weakened France 3-0.
I am sure Alberto Zaccheroni is OK with the role of underdog. This strong coach dispose over ome real talent in the likes of Kagawa (Man United), Honda (CSKA), Nagatomo (Inter), Uchida (Schalke 04), Hasebe (Wolfsburg). A tall battler in Havenaar (Vitesse) should also be a handful for this Brazilian flair side.
Japan goes into this side having played two World Cup Qualifiers in June. They were held to 1-1 at home vs Australia but beat Iraq on neutral ground.
When the sides met for a friendly last year Brazil won 4-0!
Betting Tips
Brazil should see the Lions share of possession in this game for sure. Japan has a strong defense and with Kagawa/Honda they'll be a threat going forward on counter attacks. Havenaar can threaten the defense also on set pieces. However, in Brazil at the Estadio Nacional this can get ugly. Brazil will go for the kill! Looking at their line up they've got what it takes to grind down this Japan side and show them hurt of all kinds.
The 1X2 odds of 1.28 (2/7) on offer at BET365 is a brilliant match for an accumulator bet today. Perhaps with Spain's U21 side.
On the Asian Handicap line it is the Brazil -1.5 line that looks interesting at 1.95 (19/20). Allthough Japan will rely on their captain Hasebe to control things defensively with Nagatomo and Uchida I can't see them holding on, and when Brazil has drawn first blood it can escalate quickly!
New Account holders at BET365 can also enjoy their £200 Deposit Bonus as well as free bets up to the same amount.
