Colombia looked back to something like their best in the 2-0 win over hosts USA in phase 1. They were solid at the back, passed well and looked dangerous up top. They kept possession for long periods and never looked like conceding. At the Rose Bowl in Pasadena they could make qualification with a win over Paraguay. Huge news in the injury to James Rodriguez though and he is the key man. Paraguay laboured to a 0-0 draw with Costa Rica in the 1st phase. They will be seeking something similar here that will take them to a showdown with USA in the last match. No injury worries for Paraguay here. Colombia have done well in recent head to head fixtures with 4 wins from the last 5 matches. Winning two of those matches in Ascuncion to show their domination.
The news of Rodriguez has caused the price of Colombia to drift alarmingly. However Colombia are not a 1 man show and I still have confidence of them getting a result here. I simply do not see Paraguay scoring here, they are a low quality squad.
