Group A phase 1 is complete as newcomers Albania take on Switzerland in Lens. Albania qualified through a very tough group and bested the likes of Denmark, Armenia and Serbia. They are the lowest ranking team in the tournament from FIFA who place them in 42nd. Recent friendly results have seen wins over Qatar and Luxembourg but losses to Ukraine and Austria. Mavraj and Abrashi had slight knocks but are ok for this one. Switzerland qualified in 2nd place behind England with 7 wins and 3 defeats but were not convincing despite the high win ratio. Recent friendlies have been more miss than hit with 2 wins and 4 defeats. They beat Moldova and Austria but lost to Slovakia, Ireland, Bosnia and Belgium. This has been a very one sided fixture in recent head to heads with 6 wins for the Swiss and 1 draw with Albania yet to record a win.
