It’s been a strange competition so far for Portugal who had qualified as one of the best 3^rd place teams after finishing behind Iceland and Hungary. They could only muster three draws in their three games after a few error strewn matches. Ronaldo has had about 100 chances every match and has even missed penalties. He has managed two goals mind but the rest of the team have been below par.  Raphael Guerreiro is fit again and available. In contrast Croatia have been dynamic and very attacking and deserved to win their own group. They beat Spain and Turkey and drew with Czech Republic in some eye catching performances. They beat Spain 2-1 and matched them for 90 minutes, this was no flash in the pan victory and they did it with key man Luka Modric also. The 1-0 over Turkey was more organised and controlled while the 2-2 with Czech Republic was their worst result after a poor last 10 minutes allowed the opposition in twice. Croatia are fully stocked for players for this one.

Most people will be siding with Croatia here but for me I have the Portuguese going through. Ronaldo is the 2^nd best in the world and on his game can be unstoppable. He has been a bit wobbly so far but I think quality will come through. Portugal will be there for long periods and as long as Ronaldo is on the pitch they have a chance.
