Semi final time and its host France against Germany. France have made it this far with a steadily improving game culminating in a 5-2 win over Iceland in the quarters. They have the top three scorers in the competition in Griezmann, Giroud and Payet. They have won 4 games and drew 1 so far. They have beaten Albania and Romania plus drawing with Switzerland in the groups. Wins over Republic of Ireland in the round of 16 and the Iceland win were fully deserved.  Defender Rami and midfielder Kante are both back from suspension and should slot back into the starting eleven. Germany are unbeaten so far with three wins and 2 draw. They beat Northern Ireland and Ukraine without much fuss in the groups and then drew 0-0 with Poland. In the 1^st knockout stage they battered Slovakia 3-0 in a one sided game. Last match saw a 1-1 draw with Italy that ended up going to penalties. Some comedy moments and great saves saw Germany eventually prevail. They are missing a few players here though with Khadira and Gomez injured and Hummels suspended. They have a few doubts too with Schweinsteiger and Howedes carrying injuries.

This game will be tight for sure. France are favourites to go through but they face a Germany side who will cause them problems. Germany had a tough 120 minutes and then penalties and could have an effect here. They miss three key players and could be without two more also. I take France to qualify at 10-11 or 1.91 with Ladbrokes.
