The tie of the last 8 sees big guns Germany face up to Italy. Germany are unbeaten so far with three wins and 1 draw. They beat Northern Ireland and Ukraine without much fuss in the groups and then drew 0-0 with Poland. In the 1^st knockout stage they battered Slovakia 3-0 in a one sided game. There are no injury or suspension worries for Germany here. Italy have had a tough old route so far and they find it no easier with a game against Germany. They have beaten Belgium and Sweden to nil without really breaking a sweat in either game. Forget the 1-0 loss to Ireland as they had already secured the group and rested all key players. Last match was a 2-0 win over Spain in another superbly organised performance. Every player knows his gameplan and they play it to perfection. They will be without Thiago Motta and have slight doubts over Candreva and de Rossi.

This game will be tight for sure. Germany are favourites to go through but they face a supremely well organised Italian side. Italy have already secured 2-0 wins over strongly fancied Spain and Belgium and Germany are not far off both these sides. For me whoever scores 1^st wins and that could be late on in the game.
