Switzerland take on Poland in the 1^st knock stage match in St Etienne.  So far this competition for me Switzerland have not really got going. It may seem a crazy statement seeing as they are in the knockouts but they have only beaten a 10 men Albanian side who were arguably the better side.  They drew 1-1 with Romania and again for me they were the poorer side. The last match was a 90 minute stroll against a 2^nd choice France side who had already qualified. The 0-0 draw being about the right result. Switzerland do have some quality players but for me lack a real spark or x factor. Poland are a strong side in all departments. They have so far beaten Northern Ireland and Ukraine – both 1-0 and fully deserved. Although they did lack any real desire to play at 100% attack after going ahead. They drew 0-0 with Germany just to confirm their total solidity. Bartosz Kaputska is suspended here while keeper Szczesny is still a doubt having been injured all competition.

Neither side has been particularly goal heavy here with Switzerland scoring 2 and conceding 1 in three matches. Poland even less with 2 goals scored and them yet to concede.
